Healing Hidden Trauma with the Help of Shadow Work

"The roots of trauma are a complex system of patterns and emotions, beliefs and behaviours that determine your relationship with love and trust, pain and pleasure, safety, security and stability, and health and wellness, with each thread having an impact on the other"

Trauma is a deeply distressing or disturbing experience that can have long-term impacts on an individual's overall wellbeing.

When we experience trauma, the emotional chaos that it triggers can be overwhelming and we may not have the emotional capacity or understanding to cope with it in a healthy way.

As a result, what we are unable to process at the time of the trauma becomes hidden in our shadow and manifests as unconscious behavior and belief patterns. These patterns are a way of protecting ourselves from feeling the pain of the trauma, but they also keep us stuck in unhealthy cycles of behavior.

In this episode of The Feminine Principle Podcast, I'm exploring how hidden unresolved trauma has emotional, physical, social, and spiritual effects, manifesting as physical symptoms, relationship difficulties, and a sense of disconnection from oneself and others and how Shadow work can be a powerful tool for healing trauma and moving forward in a healthy way.

I share with you my own journey navigating hidden trauma through PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder) and how it manifested in my unconscious belief system around Motherhood impacting how I reacted emotionally within myself and with others, the physical and hormonal symptoms my body experienced and the unconscious decisions I made that perpetuated unhealthy patterns of behaviour.
